A good rocket has to fly fast, go far and stay lit until the end. You have to be careful in the details and process of its construction for a rocket to be good. If you do that carefully, you can have yourself a good rocket.

Vassilis Barkoulis (rocket maker)

After the long preparation and intensive work, everything is ready and the countdown starts. Finally, at 8pm the war begins! A loud signal marks the start and both teams begin to fire their rockets, almost at the same time. The sky is lit by rockets which fly from one place to the other like shooting stars in a dark night.

When the rockets are launched  they create a cloud of intoxicating smoke, so the locals wear bandanas to prevent themselves from breathing in the gases. While the teams fire the rockets most people attend the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ inside the churches.
